Updated: 23 September 2026 · Checked against official exam sources

Writing an argumentative text is one of two official digital TestDaF writing task types; you justify a position on a social issue.

A way to approach it

Separate every point in the prompt. State your view early, then give one reason and a concrete example per body paragraph.

Final check

In your final read, check your response to other views, paragraph links and whether you stayed on the question.

Practise with the official sample

Try the TestDaF-Institut sample before reading its explanation. Compare your answers with the key and, where available, the transcript. Record why each mistake occurred and rehearse with a timer because the digital test does not let you return to a previous task.
