Goethe B1 Listening Part 3: Everyday Conversation and True/False
Updated: 13 October 2026 · Checked against official exam sources
In the official B1 adult model, Listening Part 3 is an everyday conversation between two people played only once; it has seven true/false items (16–22) and you get 60 seconds to read them.
A way to approach it
Use the 60 seconds to mark who each item is about and what it tests. Because the conversation plays once, compare each statement with the speaker and the time it refers to as you listen.
Final check
A statement that is only partly true is false. Exaggerations such as immer and alle, negation and a speaker changing their mind later are the most common traps.
Practise with the official sample
Take the relevant part of the Goethe-Institut adult model set to its official time. Use the key for Reading and Listening and the published criteria for Writing and Speaking. In your next attempt, measure whether the same error recurs.
