Goethe B1 Reading Part 2: Press Texts and a/b/c Items

In the official B1 adult model, Reading Part 2 has two press texts with six a/b/c items in total (7–12); the suggested time is 20 minutes.
A way to approach it
Read the item first and decide what you are looking for: who, why, what result. Then find the paragraph in the text, read all of it and compare each option with it.
Final check
Do not trust an option just because it repeats a word from the text. Negation, limiting words such as nur and erst, and information attached to the wrong person are the most common traps.
Practise with the official sample
Take the relevant part of the Goethe-Institut adult model set to its official time. Use the key for Reading and Listening and the published criteria for Writing and Speaking. In your next attempt, measure whether the same error recurs.
