A mock exam is not for seeing a score; it is for choosing what to study next. The Goethe-Institut adult model exam matches the real exam in task types, items and timings, and used properly it shows exactly which module is at risk.
Realistic practice
- Do Reading in 65 minutes, including transfer to the answer sheet.
- Don’t pause the audio; parts 1 and 4 are played twice, parts 2 and 3 once.
- Write the three Writing tasks in 60 minutes, using the suggested 20/25/15 split.
- Prepare Speaking for 15 minutes and record it with a partner.

After the mock
- Give every mistake a cause code: vocabulary, negation, wrong speaker, time, instructions.
- Build a short practice set from your two most frequent error types.
- Check task completion in Writing: if it scores 0, the whole task scores 0.
- Re-test the same module with a different set after 7–10 days.
A high score on a memorised set does not show progress.
