How to Complete the telc B1 Answer Sheet Correctly
Last updated: August 2026 · 8 min read
In a paper-based telc B1 examination, only answers on Antwortbogen S30 are evaluated. An answer written in the task booklet but not transferred to the answer sheet receives no credit.
What is on S30?
The answer sheet contains personal-data fields, Fachnummer/Testversion and the marked-response areas. The centre displays the required codes on the board or in the task booklet.
Enter names and dates exactly as shown on your ID. Ask the invigilator about a data-field discrepancy before the exam starts, but not about task content.
Marking technique
Fill the oval or box clearly, unambiguously and within its boundary. When changing an answer, erase the old mark completely; two visible choices may not scan reliably.
The regulations allow pencils, other pens, sharpeners and erasers. The official B1 mock shows a soft pencil for optical fields; follow the centre's instructions on the day.
Transferring within the 90 minutes
Leseverstehen and Sprachbausteine share one 90-minute block. Solving and transferring within that time is the candidate's responsibility.
Transfer in small groups after each part to reduce last-minute row shifts. Check carefully when the numbering changes to Sprachbausteine at item 21.
Listening and writing
Manage marking along with the recording and do not rely on a separate long transfer period. Listening instructions are included in the audio sequence.
Write the final email in the designated answer-sheet area. A short plan followed by a legible final text is safer than perfecting a draft that you cannot transfer in time.
