Updated 26 July 2026 · Using Goethe's current practice material

A useful mock is not an open-book exercise. Use Goethe's exam-format PDF, Listening audio and Speaking video to create an uninterrupted timed simulation that can be analysed afterwards.

Before starting

  • Choose an unseen official adult A1 set.
  • Prepare PDF, audio, answer sheet, pen and timer.
  • Silence notifications and keep the written test uninterrupted.
  • Arrange a partner and recorder for Speaking.

Real timing

ListeningAbout 20 minKeep the audio sequence
ReadingAbout 25 minStop changing answers at time
WritingAbout 20 minComplete form and short text together
SpeakingAbout 15 minRun all three parts in order

Review

Check Listening and Reading with the official key. For Writing, mark form fields, all three content points, greeting and closing. For Speaking, replay whether introductions, questions, answers, requests and responses were completed.

A home raw score is not an official certificate score. Writing and Speaking require trained assessment, so avoid claiming an exact result.

Readiness

  • Complete at least two unseen official sets under time.
  • Track stability in all four sections, not only one total.
  • Check whether repeated error types decline.
  • Do not treat one borderline pass as a safe margin.
