Goethe distinguishes a reasoned grading appeal, a complaint about exam administration and a request to inspect answers and scores. Each has a different purpose and deadline.

A grading appeal
Submit it in writing and explain the concrete grading concern. Simply saying that you missed a required score is not sufficient. The exam official decides; the grading decision is final.
An administration complaint
Report serious technical, timing or procedural problems in writing immediately after the test. If upheld, you may choose a free resit instead of a refund.
What inspection includes
- You may inspect your answers and scores.
- Tasks and model answers are not shown.
- You are not entitled to copies of exam documents.
- A minor with limited legal capacity needs guardian consent and accompaniment.
Application checklist
- Give your name, candidate number, date and centre.
- State whether this is an appeal or inspection request.
- Describe facts briefly and specifically.
- Keep proof of submission and follow the centre's local contact process.
