There is no single worldwide price for the Goethe-Zertifikat B1. Under the Exam Guidelines, the fee follows the local fee schedule and is shown on the registration form or the centre’s exam page. Each exam centre also sets its own exam dates and registration deadlines.

How the fee is set

The Goethe-Institut or licensed exam centre sets the price according to its local fee schedule.
Prices are published per module and for all four modules; booking all four together is usually cheaper.
If you miss the exam through illness, the fee is credited to the next date; the centre may charge up to 25% for rebooking.
Candidates excluded from the exam do not get a refund.

Price lists on third-party sites are often out of date; confirm the amount on the centre’s own page.

Registration steps

Choose a date and format (paper / digital) from the centre’s calendar.
Decide which modules you will take.
Register online, by email or in person; make sure your details match your ID exactly.
Pay before the deadline; the exam cannot begin if payment is outstanding.
Check the time, room and module order on your invitation; photo ID is required.
