How to Take a Goethe B2 Mock Exam

Goethe-Institut says its 2025 adult model matches the live exam in task types, item counts and timing. Its best use is therefore a first attempt without seeing answers and under realistic conditions.
Before the mock
- Print the booklet and answer sheet or open the official online version.
- Remove phones and dictionaries; aids are prohibited in the official exam.
- Keep the answer key closed and time each module separately.
- Find a speaking partner, or record the two roles separately if necessary.
Run official conditions

After checking
Label each error by cause: vocabulary, instruction, inference, attention, timing or transfer. The answer key cannot grade Writing and Speaking; use the official criteria and informed feedback.
An immediate repeat mostly measures memory. Use new tasks after correction and keep the old model for a delayed check.
