Missing telc B1 Because of Illness

If you become ill, contact your examination centre first. Current telc rules govern medical evidence when the centre requests relief from telc's administration fee; they do not create an automatic refund of your candidate fee.
Immediate steps
- Notify the centre in writing and keep the message.
- Ask which medical document it accepts.
- Confirm the delivery route and its earlier candidate deadline.
- Ask separately about refund, rebooking and a new registration.
What does the four-day rule cover?
The administration rules say an Arbeitsunfähigkeitsbescheinigung is needed when relief from telc's administration fee is requested for an ill candidate.
The deadline table gives four calendar days after the oral examination for transmission to telc. This is a centre obligation; the centre may require you to submit earlier.
Is a refund automatic?
No. The telc rule does not itself promise a refund to the candidate. The fee between telc and the centre is not identical to the total price in your booking contract.
Refunds, deductions or moving to another date depend on the centre's published terms. Save them before payment.
If you become ill during the exam
Tell the invigilator immediately; do not simply leave. Ask for the incident to be recorded in the examination report.
The effect of an unfinished part depends on the facts and applicable partial-exam rules. Request a written explanation from the centre.
In a medical emergency, seek medical help before dealing with examination procedure.
