Goethe’s A1 inventory particularly covers predicative and adverbial adjective use plus selected comparisons: Das Haus ist modern and Ich möchte lieber ein Eis. This guide does not attempt full adjective declension; it teaches safe A1 patterns for describing people, places, prices and preferences.
Core A1 adjective patterns

Common mistakes
- Adding an unnecessary ending after sein: Das Hotel ist teures.
- Using wie instead of als for a difference.
- Saying mehr gut instead of besser.
- Mixing full attributive adjective declension into these basic A1 patterns.
